Professional Counselling and Therapy Services

Supporting Mental Wellbeing Across Communities

At Raedan Institute, we recognise that mental health is fundamental to overall wellbeing and quality of life. Our professional counselling and therapy services provide a safe, confidential space for adults worldwide to explore their challenges, develop coping strategies, and work towards positive change. Located at 2 Overton Road, Leicester, we offer both face-to-face and online sessions to ensure accessibility for all who need our support.

Our Therapeutic Approach

Mental health challenges affect one in four people globally each year, according to the World Health Organisation¹. At Raedan Institute, we believe that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. Our comprehensive counselling services are designed to meet the diverse needs of adults facing various life challenges, providing professional, culturally sensitive support in a non-judgmental environment.

“The moment I walked into Raedan Institute, I felt understood and accepted,” shares Maria, a former client. “My counsellor didn’t just listen – they helped me develop practical tools to manage my anxiety and rebuild my confidence. The flexible online sessions meant I could access support even when leaving the house felt impossible.”

Range of Therapeutic Services

Individual Counselling

Our one-to-one counselling sessions provide personalised support tailored to your specific needs and circumstances. Working with fully qualified counsellors and therapists, clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours in a confidential setting designed to promote healing and personal growth.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is an evidence-based approach that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommends CBT for treating anxiety disorders, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder². Our qualified CBT practitioners help clients develop practical strategies for managing symptoms and improving daily functioning.

Person-Centred Therapy

This humanistic approach focuses on your innate capacity for positive change and self-actualisation. Our person-centred therapists create a supportive environment where you can explore your feelings and experiences at your own pace, fostering self-awareness and personal empowerment.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)

SFBT concentrates on solutions rather than problems, helping clients identify their strengths and resources to create positive change. This approach is particularly effective for individuals seeking practical strategies to overcome specific challenges or achieve particular goals.

Mindfulness-Based Interventions

Incorporating mindfulness techniques into therapy can significantly improve mental wellbeing. Research published in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology shows that mindfulness-based interventions reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression by an average of 58%³. Our therapists integrate mindfulness practices to help clients develop greater emotional regulation and self-awareness.

Group Therapy Sessions

Group therapy provides opportunities to connect with others facing similar challenges while receiving professional guidance. These sessions foster peer support, reduce isolation, and offer diverse perspectives on common struggles. Our facilitated groups cover topics including anxiety management, grief and loss, and building resilience.

Issues We Address

Our comprehensive counselling services support adults dealing with a wide range of mental health and life challenges:

Anxiety and Stress Management

From generalised anxiety to specific phobias, our therapists help clients develop effective coping strategies and reduce the impact of anxiety on daily life.

Depression and Low Mood

Using evidence-based approaches, we support individuals experiencing depression, helping them rediscover hope and develop sustainable wellbeing practices.

Trauma and PTSD

Our trauma-informed therapists provide specialised support for individuals processing traumatic experiences, using approaches such as Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) when appropriate.

Relationship and Family Issues

Whether dealing with relationship breakdown, family conflict, or communication difficulties, our counsellors help clients navigate complex interpersonal challenges.

Bereavement and Loss

Grief affects everyone differently. Our bereavement counsellors provide compassionate support for those processing the loss of loved ones, relationships, or significant life changes.

Work-Related Stress

Workplace pressures can significantly impact mental health. The Health and Safety Executive reports that 914,000 workers suffered from work-related stress, depression, or anxiety in 2021/22⁴. Our counsellors help clients develop strategies for managing workplace stress and achieving better work-life balance.

Life Transitions

Major life changes, whether positive or challenging, can trigger stress and uncertainty. Our therapists support clients through transitions such as career changes, retirement, divorce, or health diagnoses.

Face-to-Face Sessions

Meet with your therapist in our comfortable, private counselling rooms at our Leicester facility. Our welcoming environment is designed to promote relaxation and openness.

Online Therapy

Access professional counselling from anywhere in the world through secure video conferencing. Online therapy has proven equally effective as face-to-face sessions for many conditions, offering flexibility and eliminating geographical barriers⁵.

Flexible Access and Scheduling Session Structure

Each counselling session lasts 45-60 minutes, providing sufficient time for meaningful therapeutic work. We typically offer up to six sessions initially, though this can be extended based on individual assessment and therapeutic progress. Our qualified therapists continuously evaluate client needs to ensure appropriate support duration.

Convenient Scheduling

Understanding that mental health doesn’t follow a 9-5 schedule, we offer appointments Saturday through Tuesday, 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Our 48-hour booking window ensures timely access to support when you need it most.

Evidence of Impact

Research consistently demonstrates the effectiveness of counselling and psychotherapy. The Royal College of Psychiatrists reports that talking therapies help around 70% of people who receive them⁶. At Raedan Institute, we regularly evaluate our services to ensure we’re meeting client needs effectively.

“Six months after completing my counselling at Raedan Institute, I can honestly say it transformed my life,” reflects David, a former client. “The practical skills I learned continue to help me manage stress, and I finally feel equipped to handle life’s challenges. The investment in my mental health has paid dividends in every area of my life.”
